Sustainability - Environment
MAXAM is committed to environmental protection and sustainable development, key factors that contribute to the progress of the society in which we live and play a fundamental part in shaping the world that surrounds us.
At MAXAM, all new investments and developments are based on studies that ensure that they comply with current legislation and have minimum environmental impact. Our rigorous environmental policy is enforced from the very inception of each of our projects. The construction of our factories is undertaken in a manner that ensures minimum disruption to the local scenery and ecosystems whenever this is possible.
We employ expansive safety measures and quality controls in the generation and treatment of waste, spillage and polluting emissions, and apply innovative recycling techniques that allow us to use these products for the regeneration of deteriorated land. We also generate more clean electricity (by way of our windparks) than that which we consume in our factories, placing us firmly on the way to complete sustainability.
Within our innovative Defence area, we actively collaborate with a number of different organizations on projects to recover, recycle or destroy ammunition. Furthermore, we participate in the process of decontaminating and cleaning lands in military zones, all the while assuring these processes are carried out with absolute respect towards the environment.
By the same token, we offer consultative services to our clients on how they may limit the impact their activities may have on the environment when using our products.
